A small Mayan ruin: lighthouse and hurricane early-warning.

There used to be thin triangular stones blocking the upper windows facing the cardinal directions. The windows themselves were filled with stones and shells, and if a hurricane-force wind came through, it would blow through and break the stone so you could see which direction the storm was coming from.
